Ambrose West, West Asheville Performance and Event Space Opening in February

Ambrose West, a gorgeous, brand new event space and music venue comes to Beacham’s Curve on Haywood Road in West Asheville in February 2018

Ambrose West, a brand new contemporary event space and listening room in West Asheville is set to open on Thursday February 15th, 2018 with three nights of fantastic music, including internationally acclaimed gypsy jazz guitarist Gonzalo Bergara on Friday February 16th.  Ambrose West will be a multi-use, flexible event space with a focus on weddings, rehearsal dinners, corporate events and a diverse schedule of quality music.  It will be located in the vibrant, burgeoning Beacham’s Curve area in West Asheville with proximity to shopping, dining, breweries and within walking distance of many neighborhood homes. The elegant atmosphere and modern mountain charm offers a memorable setting for any occasion with a courtyard in between both buildings, a deck outside of the listening room and a large parking lot with plenty of free parking.

Ambrose West is locally owned and managed by mother and daughter team Donna Fox and Nikki Woods.  Both are big music fans and love being a part of, and contributing to, the vibrant local community in Asheville.  Nikki was born in Sylva, NC and has been a working as a mental health therapist with at-risk youth and kids with disabilities for the last 10 years.  While it was hard to leave her career, Nikki is excited to get to work in a completely new business that she has so much passion for.  “I’m thrilled to be a part of something so exciting, and fun, in this really upcoming area of West Asheville. The buildings have this great energy and watching them come to life is inspiring.  We hope to be serving the community in this capacity for a long time.”

Donna is a key part of several business ventures with her husband and lives perched on a mountain just East of Asheville. “We are so impressed with the collaborative atmosphere among the businesses in the area that we jumped at the chance to become a part of it. We just love it here and hope everyone visits and enjoys the space in some way.”
The live music at Ambrose West will be curated by longtime Asheville based Talent Buyer and Promoter, Sam Katz.  Most recently, Katz was the Owner and Talent Buyer at the perennial “Best of WNC” Listening Room, The Altamont Theatre.  Donna reached out to Katz when she heard about The Altamont shutting down at the end of 2017 and timing was opportune for both parties.  Katz is very excited to essentially pick up right where The Altamont is leaving off, and to move operations to the West side of Asheville for the first time.  Katz is also consulting with Donna and Nikki on opening and launching Ambrose West and is super excited about this new project:  “I’m thrilled to be moving over to the exciting space of West Asheville, after almost 10 solid years of working in the downtown Asheville music scene and cannot wait for everyone to see this amazing new space and all the cool stuff we’ll be doing.  You can expect to see much of the same quality programming I’ve done at The Altamont Theatre the last three years, Grammy Winners and other National acts, in what is sure to be the most intimate setting, and one of the best sounding rooms, in Asheville.  Ambrose West is truly a unique space, with a courtyard, a nice outside deck, and notably, a big old free parking lot!”
